About me

An award winning multidisciplinary UX leader with over 10 years experience in the design industry.

I believe UX must have a seat at the table to drive insight led product strategy. I devote my time to setting processes and teams up successfully so that we can deliver products that solve real user problems.

Testimonials

Star, super star, incredible, unstoppable - all words used to describe Melanie on a regular basis here at Schibsted. What I found most wonderful about working with Melanie, outside of her super woman-ness is her sense of dedication to doing UX and doing it as well as possible. I keep telling her that in a few years I’ll be begging her to hire me ... hope she does! Watch out world, cause here comes an unstoppable, super star UXer.
— Lidia Oshlyansky, Design Lead @ Spotify (Prev - VP of User Experience @ Schibsted)
Melanie gave an excellent keynote talk at our women’s network event in May 2018 addressing the topic of how women can help themselves in closing the Gender Pay Gap through networking, negotiation and confidence building. The talk was extremely well received by the women present, Melanie is authentic in her delivery and simultaneously inspiring as she exposes her own vulnerability to carry the audience with her on a voyage of self discovery and empowerment. She was well prepared, rehearsed and delivered impact and I am extremely grateful that she agreed to speak for us.
— Nancy Rowe, Inclusion and Diversity Lead @ Publicis.Sapient
I had the pleasure of working with Melanie in Schibsted Marketplaces. Her blend of exceptionally strong UX skillset, highly motivational leadership capabilities, strong bias towards action/execution and positive energy is something many of us found very inspiring. Melanie is great at what she does, and makes other better, too. I truly hope I get the chance to work with you again, Mel!
— David Gill, VP of Product Management @ Schibsted
I’m so lucky I had the opportunity to work with Melanie. Having Mel as my manager has been incredibly inspiring, helpful and challenging. She has always supported me and encouraged me to be a better designer and lead, reach my objectives and guided me to success (personal and professional). She is an exceptional Lead, she has outstanding communication skills and I’m still surprised on her ability to manage every situation in such a natural way. Melanie has had such a huge impact in the Company, implementing new approaches, methods and tools. She inspires everyone, pushes us to give our best and makes us feel we are creating a great product.
— Angela Larequi, UX Manager @ Schibsted
Working with Mel was an absolute pleasure. As well as being a skilful and empathetic designer Mel had a strong understanding of our business goals and how to promote user-centred design throughout the entire company. As my manager Mel was always incredibly considerate and helpful, guiding me through internal processes and helping me progress as both an employee and individual. Even after leaving the company I still feel she has my best interests at heart.
— Dave House, Designer at Government Digital Service (Prev - Designer at Gumtree.com, eBay)
